I found renamethemall today; what a great and simple tool for batch file renaming.The GUI is about as simple as you can get. Perfect! Install renamethemall by opening up terminal and typing the following commands.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:loneowais/ppa

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install renamethemall
