Netvibes Personal Homepages
I was perusing around some Web 2.0 sites today and found a terrific web-based application. It is called Netvibes. The purpose of this site is to provide users a personalized homepage experience. Let me break it down in a little more detail. Once you register and login, you have a public and a private homepage that uses horizontally aligned tabs to organize your RSS and widgets.

You are probably thinking to yourself about iGoogle and their homepage as well. My wife and I had the very same discussion. Netvibes is far superior in the shear number of RSS feeds available, widgets available, and the extra options such as adding your favorite RSS, custom theming, and the option to have publically and private facing homepages.
Registration was simple and efficient. I received an email within a minute or so. The interface is simple and intuitive, which uses a slick AJAX interface. It is smooth and does the job well even on my Kubuntu 9.04 Linux using Firefox.

My current public facing Netvibes page has 4 tabs. My first tab shows all of the RSS feeds from my site which include Micro Bucky (micro-blog), my blog, and the recent bookmarks from my server-side bookmarking application. Very cool. My other tabs include Tech News, News, and Local. Give it a shot. You will not be disappointed. What a great app!
